Savage's MVP tracker Week 1
Savage's MVP Tracker
The new season has started and as I mentioned before, I am picking back up my pen, and starting a new weekly article series - MVP Tracker, where I will follow the individual pop-offs of SLE players, and which player, in my opinion, is the frontrunner for the legendary SLE MVP trophy.
*Disclaimer - games and performances I see on stream hold much higher value to me than offsteram stats.
Week 1
10. IWontLeash - Assasins & Greed
vs Ablaze on Varus W 13/1/5
vs Ablaze on Smolder W 9/3/4
9. Maybe - Assasins & Greed
vs Ablaze on Skarner W 3/0/13
vs Ablaze on Ivern W 5/0/15
8. Maxi Bam - Deadly Chi
vs Good Chi Nebula on Graves W 11/6/11
vs Good Chi Nebula on Diana W 12/5/8
7. Burgerflipper - Lynx Dream
vs Emrys Hyena on Varus W 12/3/6
vs Emrys Hyena on Miss Fortune W 6/0/8
Game 1 was a bit messy even with the great scoreline as BF misstepped multiple times and got 1x1ed on a side by opposing ADC, but he did make up for it with excellent play in game 2. Burgerflipper seems to understand applying pressure even when you are placed in a weakside position - walking up and challenging opposition to use resources to attempt to catch you, especially when you have your flash up. Threatening aggression, stealing away the camps opposing jungler is trying to get. Excellent work, excited to see what Burgerflipper can do for the rest of the season.
6. Kebabspinner - Lynx Dream
vs Emrys Hyena on Xin Zhao W 5/3/14
vs Emrys Hyena on W Zac 4/1/12
In game 1 Kebabspinner brutally outjungled opposition sub-jungler Cloud, since the very first invade of the game. Skillshots and plays were on point, but what caught my eyes the most was his decisions on when to peel and when to go in. KS used his ult to save his ADC multiple times and dived in to execute key targets once his team was safe. In game 2, KS had a much harder challenge, SLE veteran Obsidian, but KebabSpinner was up for the task, holding his own and setting up his carries. Very solid performance by the Estonian jungler.
5. Balthasar - Vitagen
vs Slim Odds on Gragas W 5/0/10
vs Slim Odds on Ksante W 8/0/3
From the president of the Vitagen fan club to being the main star of the the team, what a journey it has been for Balthasar. During week one matchup Baltha was matched against one of the most dangerous toplaners, the solokill king Banarex, and Vitagens Big B took Slim odds topplaners lunch, completely shut down the carry potential for his opposition and as a cherry on top had multiple excellent teamfights with great dives and flank TPs.
4. Jonathan Issac - Eternal Blizzard
vs Grubbers on Brand W 5/1/9
vs Grubbers on Viego W 10/0/10
The season opener on Brand was solid, JI was playing with confidence and landed his skillshots, but game 2 on Viego was where JI truly shined, putting on an absolute early game clinic. It felt like there was nothing JI could do wrong, everywhere he went he got a kill, every gank succeeded, he did exactly what was expected and a little more being a heavy favorite verses Grubbers. Now let's see what the star jungler can do against a tougher opposition.
3. Mini - Black Lotus Esports
vs Round Table on Varus W 8/2/8
vs Round Table on Smolder W 8/1/18
How many players can say that they once astrogapped their opposing player so hard that not only they completely mentally boomed, tried to leave the game, and eventually left the whole server? Well the star addition for BLE can say that. Mini has always been one highest raw skill players in Discord leagues, but just not able to put it all together when it matters the most. Maybe SLE Season 7 can be the turning point?
2. Jomiie - Vitagen
vs Slim Odds on Ziggs W 5/0/10
vs Slim Odds on Ornn W 0/1/13
In game 1 Jomiie managed to have a clean game on Ziggs, doing everything that was asked of him, but game 2 was what puts him on the list. Ladies and gentlemen, we had the pleasure to watch The Best Ornn player in SLE history pick his champ again, even while being the botlaner. I did not think we will have the pleasure to see this again. Thank you Mr. Jomiie!
Honorable Mentions
Sovonix, TBMZ, Hadestf, JL, The Pansen, Delf, Jesseija, Dutchh, Ruzu, Kaptenen, RainD
1. Buettner - Black Flag Sailors
vs Chitaly on Kaisa W 9/3/12
vs Chitaly on Vayne W 14/5/5
Finishing the week in style and upsetting the double MVP Good Chi roster, Buettner had a season debut to remember. What I like the most about this star adc is that he knows when it is his time to shine. He is fine missing a few cs, going a bit down in lane, and patiently waiting for his opportunities because they will come, and when the lategame bells are ringing, watch out. Buettner might be the best lategame player in SLE right now.
