SLE Grand Final - Good Chi Gaming vs Team Evolution

GRAND FINAL

Good Chi Gaming vs Team Evolution

Sunday, 12th of June - 19:30(Finals opening broadcast starts at 18:30)

Here we have it, this is it. The whole season 2 of SLE culminates in one series. The finals where the winner takes it all - 150 euro price, discord fame, bragging rights, and most importantly the season 2 SLE champion virtual cup. What a story it has been so far, both of the top 2 seeded teams Vitagen and RT1 not making the finals, the division 2 underdogs NME eliminating 2 division 1 teams, Good Chi Gaming joining the league mid-season, struggling at times, but eventually elevating their dark horse status to a juggernaut and last but not the least Evo - discussed as the favorites at the start of the season just to go down as low as 4th place and being rated as a nonfactor, Evo has regained its status and goes in SLE finals as the only team that has not lost a single series. We have a matchup in our hands and the teams will deliver. The finals are going to be a best of 5 so we are in for a series!

It's rematch time in finals as Chi is going to face in Eco finals again. The last time they faced in top bracket finals were in 3 game banger games went to late game and eventually, Evo gave their opponents the bad chi and sent them to face Vitagen in bottom bracket finals. Evo will try to keep up their winning streak and finish the job in the finals. Good Chi meanwhile has a storyline going, it is the full anime redemption arc - in their first game of SLE, they faced Evo and lost in a close game, and then in playoffs top bracket finals they faced Evo again and were the first and only team so far to beat Good Chi in best-of series. And now in their final game of this season, again against their bitter rivals Evo, will Good Chi overcome their demons and fulfill the quest for glory?

Good Chi Gaming

Playoffs so far: Good Chi cruised past Runtime and RT1 before running into a wall with the name Evo and had to face their friends Vitagen in the bottom bracket finals. This was so far the most exciting series of the playoffs as both teams were very evenly matched, but eventually, the good drafts, early game prowess, and heroics from Loco and lol gog helped Good Chi secure their spot in the finals.

Strengths: Early game. There is no team currently in SLE that are able to match Good Chi's early game as they are seen scoring 1-5k gold leads in the first 15-20 minutes every game, sometimes this overflows in massive snowball win, other times they can throw. Good Chi will be looking to transform this lead into dominating wins more often.

Weaknesses: Adc teamfight positioning. Good Chi all-star Adc Savage has struggled with balancing good teamfights and bad ones as there have been multiple cases of him being oneshot very early in the fight. Savage will have to play more culturally and secure his DPS to guarantee his team victories in these games.

Team Evolution

Playoffs so far: 3-0 in series so far in SLE playoffs, Evo has shown competitiveness and determination these playoffs. Evo showed how they can come back in games and win mid-late game teamfights against Vitagen and Good Chi. The Series against Good Chi, so far, has been the most difficult for Evo as they had to overcome a 6k gold deficit in their deciding game 3 to go to the finals. Evo hasn't been dominant but has done just enough to be where they are now.

Strengths: Clutch gene and late-game teamfights. Evo has shown that they can never be counted out pulling bigger and smaller comebacks in every series so far. Evo never gives up and fights till the end, showing very little nerves and never crumbling under pressure.

Weaknesses: While teams carries in mid and ADC have shined, teams supporting cast in the top, jungle, and support can be exposed and their mispositioning and misjudgment punished. Evos non-carriers will look to elevate their gameplay to their carry level.

Matchup of the Series

Sovonix (Good Chi Gaming, Mid) vs Yeon (Evolution, Mid)

In this final series, the matchup could not be anything else than MID.  Both standout starts in their respective teams, and both carries in their own right, Sovonix and Yeon have had great playoffs and will have one last dance in the finals. Sovonix has told that he was intimidated by Yeons reputation as the best Mid in SLE, before joining SLE, but since then Sovonix himself has gathered the same reputation. xThaizz might have something to say about it, but he is not here, so shhh. Yeon and Sovonix will duke it out in mid to prove their best midlaner status. Both of these players are fans of solokilling their lane opponents and will do their best to bring on the show.

True Evo won the last series and true they have not lost a series yet, but I do believe that Good Chi will take it all in a very competitive series 3-2. Why? Good Chi vs Vitagen series. Both teams Chi and Vtg looked much better than they did in their loss to Evo, looking like they fixed most of the problems that made them lose to Evo, but let's focus on Chi. Drafts were much better, bot lane was doing great and the early game looked even better than it looked vs Evo. Good Chi looked to have upgraded and defeated the strong-looking Vitagen side in the clutch late-game affair, showing another growth - being able to win close games. I still do believe that Evo will bring their A-game taking 2 games, but this time it won't be enough and we will have Good Chi crowned as SLE season 2 champions.

There is no more hype needed, this is finals, the best teams, the best players, epic storylines. Call your mom, call your ex, everyone must watch, it's SLE finals.
