SLE Playoffs Playins CCG vs JAL

SLE Playoffs Play-ins CCG vs JAL - Sunday, 10th of April, 20:00 CET.

SLE playoffs continue with the first matchup between two division 2 teams. The well-organized machine - Curtain Call Gaming and the rebels Jalapeons. Let's see how these two division two challengers match up.

Curtain Call Gaming vs Jalapeons

In our play-in playoffs matchup, it is a showdown between two, division 2 teams -  Curtain Call Gamings team Lethal Rampage is going to match up against the spicy Jalapeos. CCG comes off their best season in SLE contending for 1st place in division 2 til very last week, meanwhile, Jalapeons have had their fair share of struggles. At times, Jalapeons have looked like possible d1 contenders, but their inability to close out games has left them with a 0-6 record against the top 3 division 2 teams.

This is going to be a match of controlled and standard gameplay and picks versus unique, unordinary gameplay and picks. CCG at their best day looks like a possible division 1 team, division 2 top 2 at the very least, but on a bad day, it feels like the whole rift is working together to mess up every single play that happens. Jalapeons playstyle is similar to their team name and logo – spicy. Unique picks like chogath+senna bot, Draven pop-offs, and role swaps every game, this team brings entertainment and content. This really sets up a style mismatch, can CCG play clean and good gameplay and take out Jalapeons like they have in their both season meetings, or will Jalapeons drag CCG into the deep ends of Scoville scale and make them beg for milk? My prediction is 2-1 CCG, but it will get messy.

Matchup of the series – Michy Darko(CCG, Top)  vs Amaurotic(JAL, Fill).

Self-proclaimed division 2 MVP Michy Darko is the star player for CCG, with the right pick and good early game, he can completely take over the game, pull out highlight-reel plays and carry his team to victory, while on the other side, it is not known which player will match up against Michy, but often it is Jalapeons star player and team captain, Amaurotic. Amaurotic plays multiple off-meta picks and is the driving force behind Jalapeons crazy playstyle.

Jalapeons

Strengths: Unpredictability – we have no idea what kind of new strat and champs they will pull out every game, sometimes it's more confusing than good, but nevertheless it is hard to prepare. Jalapeons are at their best when they invite the opponent team to the fiesta, and they are good at creating it.

Weaknesses: Throws/ability to close – once they have created a messy game they can build massive leads and seemingly unlosable games, but not for Jalapeons. They can throw any lead at any moment of the game, doesn't matter if it's 5k or 15k, they can do it and are contestable in their closing ability.

Curtain Call Gaming(Lethal Rampage)

Strengths: Toplaner Michy has shown great individual play building leads in his lane and transitioning them into winning games. CCG also functions well when they have clear engage tools and tanky champs that buy time for their carrys to do follow-up damage.

Weaknesses: CCG is not the best at setting up for objective fights. They might draft tools to fight for objectives, but setting up the vision, having their champs in their correct places, and executing the quick and clean play, around objectives, is a struggle.

Thank you for reading and join in the action, by watching this game on Sunday, 10th of April, 20:00 CET at twitch.tv/lol_sle. Also, most likely there will be another playoffs game between Team Evolution and Zero Gaming, the day before on the 9th of April, 20:00 CET, but that game is yet to be confirmed.
