SLE Playoffs Round 1 - GCG vs RUN
Good Chi Gaming vs Runtime 05.04. 21:00
CET
SLE veterans vs SLE newcomers,
D1 contenders vs the best of D2, talent vs preparation, in hype Top bracket
first-round play Good Chi Gaming are facing Runtime, both teams have a lot to
prove. Good Chi Gaming is debuting in the SLE playoffs, with no prior experience
they will look forward to proving that they are in a different class and their
finals dreams are justified. Meanwhile, SLE veterans Runtime have proven that
they are force to be reckoned with, time after time being underrated and coming
in strong.
Recently there have been talks about d2
strength compering to d1 and possibility of uniting the league, this series
will give us a look to see if the strongest d2 team is competitive with 3rd
strongest d1 team. Runtime will have pressure on them to not only represent
themselves but also d2 as a whole. That being said I believe that Good Chi
Gaming is a bad matchup for Runtime as it might be tough to build leads vs
strong Good Chi Gaming laners which is Runtime's weak spot.
Matchup
of the series: Savage(Good Chi
Gaming, ADC) vs Diasobo(Runtime, ADC) – both teams bring
strong adcs to the table, Division 1 kills leader Savage will match up against
Runtime new and confident recruit Diasobo.
Diasobo promised to „bot gap” not only Savage, but also the rest of SLE, lets
see if he will walk the walk in playoffs.
Good Chi Gaming
Strengths: GCG has
grown into a very disciplined team that has strong laning combined with excellent
setups for team fights and plays from jungle and support, lol gog and loco64
respectively. Good Chi Gaming plays at its best when placed in a classic game
style where it can use its fundamentals, vision, and synergy to set up clean
fights, transition leads, and close-out games. Very Korean style of play.
Weaknesses: Draft.
Good Chi Gaming can get into big brain LS mode and start overthinking drafts
with fringe picks and unpracticed strategies that can backfire. Playing vs GCG you can find yourselves getting picks you did not expect to get and seeing them
pick very off-meta bad champions.
Runtime
Strengths: Set
plays and closing out games with a lead. Runtime plays coordinated gameplay and
has plans of plays that they are about to do no matter what. They might be
predictable, but having 5 players that move and do the same plan together is a
strength. After getting a lead Runtime knows how to close out games as they
have shown many times in D2.
Weaknesses: Playing from behind. The runtime can set up plays and push leads when they are ahead but struggle to do the same when they are behind. Taking an early game focused champs to nutralize Runtime early plays might be the way to secure wins against them.
